Student Life

Student’s daily life at the Leelanau School is structured by philosophies and values that reflect all other areas of our program: stewardship, leadership, awareness, integrity, resilience, courage and interconnectedness. With these values emphasized by our residential staff, as well as of academic faculty, students often find these values easy to incorporate into their choices and activities here.

Our residential staff keeps close connections with our teaching faculty to ensure a student receives support they need. Our dorm parents are also very communicative with students’ families, relaying achievements as well as difficulties to provide a consistent experience of guidance for each student.

Students also participate in an array of activities during their afternoons, directly after classes. Offerings include: tennis, soccer, basketball, volleyball, snowboarding and skiing, equestrian, zumba, hunter safety, fishing, canoeing, swimming, kayaking, dance, cheerleading, as well as others.
