Diversity At Leelanau

The human experience with all of its beauty, awe, and pain is made greater by the people we share it with. The acceptance that others may be different from oneself allows for greater societal well-being.

Diversity at Leelanau means many things. However, diversity is a range of human differences, including but not limited to race, ethnicity, biological sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, social class, physical ability or attributes, religious or ethical values system, national origin, political beliefs, and neurodiversity.

At Leelanau, diversity means being who you are and accepting others for who they are. Our intentionally small community incorporates practices of inclusion in a natural way through our program curriculum, as well as, through school clubs such as H.E.R.O.E.S (Helping Educate Regarding Orientation, Equality and Selfhood).
