Help us Open the Doors Wider for our Neighbors!

Leelanau’s programs and campus have remained a well-kept secret for nearly a century, even to our Glen Arbor neighbors.

We are eager to engage with Glen Arbor and Leelanau County in new and exciting ways, and sharing access to our school’s historic Auditorium seems a welcoming start. By renovating this beautiful space, we can extend our resources to other educators and students, guest artists, cultural partners, and local businesses. In turn, we all benefit from expanded opportunities, audiences, relationships, community, and school pride.

Click the link below to make a gift to the Auditorium. Every gift of any size makes a difference!

The auditorium requires projection, sound, lighting, and electrical updates. All are outdated or in disrepair. The flooring, seating, curtains, and dressing rooms show age and generations of use.

While we seek foundation and state funding to help support the restoration and renovation of this community space, additional charitable donations from our Leelanau family and community will be critical in the grant application process and our ultimate success.

Thank you for considering this worthy undertaking!

“Leelanau is here to make learning visible. To learn something new is great. To develop a talent is wonderful. It proves we can overcome trepidation with resilience. But things only have value if they can be shared. Pots of gold never spent are not worth the jars that hold them.

So making visible TO OTHERS the wisdom you have collected is an act of courage and generosity. And that is what keeps the experiment of humanity rolling on this planet.”

Rob Hansen, Head of School

“So many people in Glen Arbor and Leelanau County have never been on our stunning campus or experienced the power and beauty of The Leelanau School. Leelanau’s approach to joyful learning is intentional and creative and generates a sense of community and belonging that deserves to be shared. We believe that renovating and sharing our historic Auditorium with our Leelanau County neighbors will bring more art, culture, and business to our students and neighbors. More learning. More community. More joy.”
