Tuition & Financial Aid

Tuition at the Leelanau School covers schooling costs, housing, food, health services, learning materials and also supports the comprehensive residence life team who make our campus a true home away from home.

It is expensive to operate a high quality private school with an emphasis on personalized instruction and one of the best student-teacher ratios in the country but you will start to see the value of this investment as they spend their high school career developing the skills – and passion – they’ll need to achieve their goals in college and beyond.

Tuition rates for the 2017-2018 school year:

Boarding Students: $61,350
5-Day Boarding Students: $52,675
Day Students:   $30,675

Financial Aid

We believe that every student deserves a chance to reach his or her potential. That is why we strive to make The Leelanau School affordable to any family who feels that it is the right fit for their child. Financial Aid can help close the gap between the cost of the school and what a family can afford.

Our admissions process is need-blind, meaning a student is accepted on his or her own merits, without regard to the family’s ability to pay tuition. For that reason, we begin the financial aid process after a student has been accepted.

To make the financial aid application process easier for you, we have partnered with the School & Student Services (SSS) online system by the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS). The SSS calculates an estimated family contribution to help us make fair and objective financial aid decisions.

We encourage parents to contact us at 231-334-5800 to learn more about our Financial Aid program.
